Gentingen, an idyllic village in the Eifel district of Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate, is picturesquely situated on the eastern bank of the River Our, right on the border with Luxembourg. The first documentary mention of the village as "Gemtinga" dates back to May 6, 1096.
Sights and culture:
- Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist: This single-nave church with a Romanesque tower dates back to the 17th century. The tower was repaired in 1710 and a sacristy was added in the 19th century. Inside there are three baroque altars from the 18th century.

- Circular hiking trail no. 84 - Gentingen: This 3.8 km circular trail in the Southern Eifel Nature Park leads through fields and meadows and offers fantastic views of the surrounding valleys.
- Hiking and cycling tours: The area around Gentingen offers numerous hiking and cycling trails through the varied landscape of the Southern Eifel. Popular destinations are the impressive gorges and natural monuments in the region.
Traditional events:
- International flea market: A large flea market is held in August with many exhibitors from Germany and the Benelux region.
